This is a major question, are you Team Ethan, or Team Zeena? That's what I need to decide now. In the novella Ethan Frome, The author Edith Wharton paints a very successful negative view of Zeena. This view is very good, and I believe that Zeena is the neediest, most annoying, and terrible wife ever. In the story Zeena is always coughing up a storm, arguing with Ethan, and Hating on Mattie. Mattie was asked to come and take care of Zeena who's "Sick". She has no patience for Mattie, who doesn't know anything about housework or cooking. What annoys me most about Zeena is her "Zero tolerance" policy for Mattie. Mattie's lost everything, and now Zeena has the nerve to go and say "Oh, I don't want her anymore, she's burdening the house to much". Zeena's also a needy woman, she's spending all of Ethan's money on "Medications" that will "Cure" her. I don't think any medication will cure this rigid, cold, and heartless woman.

I agree with you that Zeena is a needy and annoying person. She just cares about herself and doesn't thank Ethan for his effort to pay all of her bills.
Mattie was asked to come to Starkfield to take care of Zeena, but Zeena always complains about Mattie's skills.
I was never a fan of Zeena. What a nag.
